Practice Areas

Jeanie Tate Goodwin is an experienced civil trial lawyer.  Her practice focuses on maritime law, including Jones Act personal injury, vessel status, and cruise ship cases.  She also spends significant time defending energy companies in complex, commercial litigation.  In addition, she has substantial experience in insurance law, including both first party and third party litigation, as well as coverage opinions.

Ms. Goodwin has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 2004, and she is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern, and Eastern Districts of Texas, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United State Supreme Court.  She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, and DRI.   

Ms. Goodwin is a 2004 graduate of the Baylor University School of Law in Waco, Texas, where she obtained a Certificate in Criminal Practice.  While in law school, she served as the Technical Editor of the Baylor Law Review.  Ms. Goodwin also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, summa cum laude, from Baylor University.  Upon her graduation in 2001, she was honored as the Outstanding Student in Secondary Education and the Distinguished Student in Political Science.
